We take our ‘English Only’ policy very seriously at Eurocentres Brisbane, so from the moment you enter the building, the only language you can speak is English.
Eurocentres Brisbane’s English-Only Policy has been established to help you maximise your English language practice during your studies in Australia.
To help you really improve your English proficiency level, you will be expected to communicate in English ONLY at all times while at Eurocentres Brisbane.
During Classes you may only communicate in English. If you are caught using you own language during a class, you will be asked to leave the class and you will be marked absent.
If you need help or clarification on a point of English or general matter by another student in your own language you must ask the Teacher for permission.
The Lunch Area, Common Rooms, Learning Centre and Corridors are English ONLY. Persons not speaking English in these areas will be asked to leave the building for the duration of the break period.
During break times if you need to use your mobile phone to speak with someone in your own language or another student, classrooms 1b & 2 have been designated for this purpose. Please use these rooms only. ALL other areas are English ONLY. If you are caught speaking other than English you will be asked to go the designated classroom or leave the building. If you are caught a second time you will be asked to leave the building immediately. Further breaches will require you to meet with the Director of Studies to discuss you behavior and possible further disciplinary action.
The use of Mobile Phones during class time is NOT PERMITTED unless it is an Emergency. If you are expecting a call please advise the Teacher. If you use your mobile phone during class time you will be asked to leave the class and marked absent.
