ENGLISH COURSE
This course is designed for students to improve their English, whilst also
learning about the culture, lifestyle and people of New Zealand. Our teachers are highly experienced in teaching this programme and meeting
the needs of the individual students. Students at a particularly high or low
level are given the opportunity to study at their level with the mainstream classes if they would prefer, otherwise, our teachers are
experienced in teaching multi-level classes.
**If there are fewer than six enrolments for any one course, or if levels of
individual students varies greatly, students may be placed in the main stream classes at their individual academic level. We guarantee however to offer 50+ group only for activities.
ACTIVITIES
The activities are selected specifically for this age group and offer the
student the opportunity to learn more about New Zealand culture and society. These may include the following depending on the location and
season:
*Farm visit *Garden Tours *Maori Concert *Mini Golf *City Tour
*Winery visit *Maori Carving *Jet boating *Museum visits *Day excursions
ACCOMMODATION
An important component of this course is getting to know New Zealand people
through their life and culture.
Aspect has specially selected families to host the participants in this
programme. To find the best family
best suited to the student’s needs, it is important that as much information
about specific requests or needs
is given at the enrolment stage. Our staff will work hard to accommodate
these when selecting the best
host family. After four weeks living with their family, students often feel
that they become very close to
their family, and often remain friends for life!
For students not wanting to stay in our homestay accommodation, we can also
suggest other types of accommodation, such as B&Bs, motels or hotels, though students are responsible for making their own bookings.
STUDENT SUPPORT
In our Christchurch school, there are staff dedicated to student welfare.
Any time students need assistance in adapting to life in New Zealand, be it with regard to the host family or the course, our accommodation & welfare staff and academic staff will be available to counsel the students.
WHY NEW ZEALAND??
New Zealand is currently enjoying an ever-strengthening reputation around
the world, making it an ideal
destination to combine study and tourism. Some of the reasons our past
students have cited for coming to
New Zealand to participate in this course are as follows:
_ A safe country
_ Beautiful nature and environment
_ Somewhere different and exotic
_ Has good weather
_ Easy-going lifestyle
_ Friendly people
